Urna Mukherjee has been selected for the Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship at the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands, for “object-based research involving the art and cultural history of the Low Countries.” Her research proposal is titled, “Material Cultures and Global Influences of Dutch Shipbuilding from the Seventeenth to the Nineteenth Century”. She plans to study an impressive collection of ship models held at the museum, many of which originated at the Dutch East India Company.
