The Joint Atlantic Seminar in the History of Biology will hold its 55th meeting on March 27-28, 2020, at the Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood campus in Baltimore, Maryland.
The deadline for proposals for a 20‐minute presentation is February 7, 2020. Please send a title, paper description (200 words) and contact information to Sharon Kingsland [email protected]. We expect to inform people of acceptance by February 14.
Founded in 1965, the Joint Atlantic Seminar provides a welcoming forum for new scholars to present original scholarly research to their peers and faculty. We particularly encourage submissions from graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and recent PhDs. Themes may include any topics in the fields of history of biology and biomedicine of any period. Sponsors are the Departments of History of Medicine and History of Science and Technology at Johns Hopkins.
The meeting’s format will follow custom, with a welcoming reception in the early evening on Friday, March 27, and talks on Saturday, March 28, followed by a banquet. Every effort will be made to find no‐cost housing for students presenting papers or attending the meeting.
